Who we are
Dark Fish Studios is a small creative studio run by Lee Vandenberghe in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada. It makes AI music videos, imagery and website templates. Contact: darkfishglobal@gmail.com.
This website
darkfishstudios.com has no accounts, no forms, no cookies and no advertising or analytics trackers. It is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security. The page loads fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when the fonts load.
Dark Fish Studios Uploader (YouTube API Services)
Dark Fish Studios Uploader is our internal publishing tool. It is not a public app: nobody outside Dark Fish Studios can sign in to it or use it. It connects to YouTube API Services and is used only on YouTube channels we own: Dark Fish Studios, Plain English Builds, Deep House en Español, Deep House to Sleep To and AI Genesis.
By using it we are bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Data from YouTube API Services is also covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
What the tool does
- Uploads and schedules our own videos, and sets their titles, descriptions, thumbnails, captions and playlists.
- Reads the public comments left on our own videos, so that we can reply to them as the channel.
What data it accesses
- Our own channel data: video IDs, titles, descriptions, upload and schedule status, playlists and captions.
- Public comments on our own videos: the comment ID, the commenter's public display name and the comment text, exactly as YouTube shows them publicly under the video.
It does not read anyone's private data, subscriptions, watch history, email or any other Google account information.
How the data is used and shared
- Comment text is sorted (question, praise, idea, spam, needs a personal answer) and a short reply is drafted. That sorting and drafting is done with an AI model from Anthropic (Claude), which receives only the public comment text, the commenter's public display name and the video ID.
- A short summary of new comments is sent to the channel owner's private Telegram chat, so he can answer the ones that need a personal reply.
- Replies are posted publicly under the comment, as the channel.
- We never sell API data, never use it for advertising, never build profiles of commenters and never share it with anyone else.
What we store, and for how long
- Our own video records (IDs, titles, schedule times, upload status) are kept in local files on the access-controlled computer that runs the tool, for as long as the video is on YouTube.
- Comment data (comment ID, display name, text, the drafted reply) is kept in a local log on that computer for at most 30 days, then deleted automatically.
- The tool's sign-in token is stored only on that computer.
Your choices
- Any Google account that has authorized the tool can remove its access at any time from security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. That stops all access immediately.
- To ask us to delete a comment record about you, or for any privacy question, email darkfishglobal@gmail.com. We answer within 30 days.
- You can also delete your comment on YouTube itself at any time.
Children
This website and our tool are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date.
